LVL Introduction

LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) can make up for the shortcomings of artificial fast-growing wood. Such as soft material, low strength, and large dimensional variability, realize the best use of inferior wood and large use of small wood, and alleviate the contradiction caused by the shortage of wood.

Characteristics of LVL

1. High stability and strength: Laminated veneer has high strength-to-weight ratio, better than steel; uniform structure and high reliability.
2. High economy: there are no special requirements for raw materials. There is no need to remove defects such as knots. The rate can reach 60%~70%.
3. Easy to handle: According to the requirements of the product’s use environment. The product treated as anti-corrosion, insect-proof and fire-proof.
4. Achieving standardization and serialization: in the production process, the veneers classified according to certain standards, and produce standard products of different levels of quality.
5. Easy to process: It is easy to perform mechanical cutting such as sawing, planing, milling, drilling, tenoning, drilling, sanding, etc.
6. Anti-vibration and vibration damping: Laminated veneer has extremely strong anti-vibration and vibration damping properties. It can use as a structural material.
7. Good flame retardancy: Due to the time nature of the wood pyrolysis process and the glued structure of the laminated veneer lumber. The LVL as a structural material has better fire resistance than steel.
